Anniversaries

Hard to believe but one year ago this weekend, we were preparing to leave for Ethiopia! Where has the time gone?? It was the afternoon of April 1 when we received our travel -- and it was no April Fool's joke! You can relive it here. (That part about Simon being a bit spoiled? They were right!) This is a time for many anniversaries to be remembered in our house. On March 31, we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. And then our travel call on April 1. April 6 will always be Simon's Family Day. We're planning to celebrate with cake -- Simon's favorite. (Actually, it's the icing that he loves!) And then April 14 is the day we returned to Indiana. We have so much to celebrate and be thankful for. We've got a very busy week coming up. April is always my busiest month at work with lots of events; and Mark's studio gets really busy too. It's going to be a challenge to balance it all as parents this year. Last year, I got to take a little over 2 months off from work to be with Simon. Wish I could do that again! Especially since Simon's sitter had her baby a few weeks early ... we'll be juggling our schedules so that we can care for him during the day, too. Never a dull moment in our house! We're just glad that Mark has recovered quickly from his hernia surgery and that he can take Simon to the studio with him (which Simon loves!) So that's it from here! Time to go clean up the house a bit. The clutter is accummulating and making us both crazy. : ) More updates to come soon!
