When we bought our house just over a year ago, we saw a lot of potential in it. During our first year here, we worked on painting the inside and making it our own. We did a lot of dreaming and discussing the yard and outside projects. Mark has said all along that it will be at least a three year project to get it looking good. And it may be a lifetime before we can get the moles to stop digging in the yard! But I digress ...
We really like the landscaping behind the sunroom. It needs some attention and upkeep but for the most part, we like it. But it needed some bursts of color with all the greenery. So this week, that has been my project. The sunroom is my favorite spot to be in the spring, summer and fall! Anyway, here is the 'before' photo:

And here is the 'after' photo. We thinned out the huge hosta, added a few flowering perrenials, and new mulch. Anyone care to join me in the sunroom for some birdwatching? You're welcome anytime! The color of the flowering plants is much better in person. : )
And now for a bonus photo: our first pepper is growing in our container garden -- yay! We can already see more peppers forming, too. We're watching our eggplant and cumcumber plants closely. So far -- nothing. But this blog will be the first to broadcast it when there's something to report!
