Vintage Indiana

A few Saturdays ago, Mark and I went to the Vintage Indiana event at Military Park in Indianapolis. It's a day long festival of food and wine. Most of Indiana's wineries participate. It's a chance to try different wines from around the state while listening to good music. We went in 2008 for the first time. We were only there for a few hours and had a lot of fun. We decided to go again this year but this time, we made plans to hang out for the whole day because the Gin Blossoms were going to play at 5 p.m. -- awesome! Both years, we went with our friends Chris and Brian. They brought their pop-up canopy tent so that we could relax and listen to the music -- a trick we learned from the previous year.

The diamond missing from my engagement ring. I somehow bent a prong and the diamond fell out somewhere in Military Park. If you zoom in on the photos above, you can see that it must have fallen out shortly after we arrived, probably while setting up the tent. Thankfully, it is fully insured and is being replaced.

Despite losing my diamond, we still had a very fun time. I didn't get that upset about it because in the big scheme of things, a diamond just isn't that important. Sure, I love what it symbolizes between me and Mark but our marriage, relationship and looking forward to welcoming Baby Ailor next year are far more important to me. Don't know if we'll make it to Vintage Indiana next year but it sure made for a fun summer getaway this year.
