Here is a photo of our freakishly tall stalk of dill. This is the third summer that this dill plant has been with us. The first summer, most of the dill splashed out of the pot and onto the sidewalk so we had dill growin in both the pot and on the sidewalk. It's probably still growing in the sidewalk at our old house. Last summer, it did ok in the pot on our patio but not great. We were surprised to find it growing again this summer after the pot was left outside all winter. Strong stuff, that dill! It makes us laugh because this one stalk is the tallest things growing in our container garden.
And finally, here is Mark trying yet another method to get rid of the moles in our back yard. Kind of looks like a scene from the movie Caddy Shack, no? These little smoking dynamite stick things help to drive the moles into a corner of the yard and then you can find them easily. It actually worked! Mark 'relocated' the mole just yesterday. He did it the old-fashioned way by watching the mole moving underground -- he could actually see the ground moving! I know, kind of creepy but it worked.
Score: Mark 1 / Mole(s) 0

I've heard that if you put chocolate Ex-Lax in the mole holes they will "stink it up" and move on to another location. Haven't tried this but, my father-in-law swears by it!
