Adoption Update

After feeling rather down this summer about the slowness/lack of referrals given by our agency, we were thrilled to see eight families receive referrals for 9 children last week -- woo whoooo! We are so excited for these families take another step closer to growing their families. With those referrals, we are officially number 16 on the unofficial waiting list. Our theory is that two out of every three families participates in the unofficial list. So we're now once again feeling hopeful that we could possibly maybe might almost hear something by the end of this year. : )

Today marks 5 months on the waiting list. And while this wasn't really a planned coincidence, Mark made doro wat and collard greens for dinner tonight -- it tasted just like what we've eaten at Abyssinia in Indianapolis! And thanks to our friend Jenny, we were able to pull some injera from the freezer to enjoy with it -- yay, Jenny!

And so the wait continues. This weekend, we're going to make a trip to the GIANT baby store in Indy to get some ideas ... an exploratory mission, so to speak. : ) Thanks for helping to keep our spirits up during the wait!
