We went to the store and bought hot dogs and the fixings for s'mores. Can you say, yummmm?? Mark worked very diligently to build the fire. The previous owners of our home left a pile of firewood by the shed. Unfortunately, it must be very old wood because our fire didn't last very long. Oh well. It lasted long enough to enjoy our roasted hot dogs and marshmallows on the sticks that Mark made for us from some left over trim he found in his shop.
It was a nice and relaxing way to end the day. The sky was clear and the moon and stars were bright. I couldn't help but wonder what the sky will look like over Ethiopia. We also wondered about the child who will one day be ours ... is he/she even born yet? Where will we be a year from now, when fall begins again? Will we be waiting to travel? Will we be in Ethiopia? Will we have our referral and know the one who will be our child? I think that the intimacy of sitting around a campfire brings out the dreamer in me and in Mark too.
